    "Charles A. Schneider, a German immigrant, owned an iron foundry in Washington and invested in real estate such as these two I Street properties that Cluss and Schulze designed. Cluss had known Schneider for many years. Schneider's foundry had provided the wrought iron roof structures used in the Patent Office, the Smithsonian Institution, and the National Museum"
