    Description

    This marker commemorates the history of winemaking in Kentucky. Initially begun by Swiss immigrants, the area received an influx of Germans from the Rhine River Valley, a well-known wine producing region in Western Germany. Bracken County is home to the oldest vineyards in the United States.
