Description

Founded in 1999, the German-American Cultural Center and Museum in Gretna, Louisiana, is dedicated to the German immigrants who founded Gretna in 1836. During non-pandemic years, its 400-plus members celebrate at monthly dinner meetings and hold beer garden celebrations for Oktoberfest, Mayfest, and the Gretna Heritage Festival. Our free museum is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday.
